Amanda Pirot has been painting custom dog, cat, and people portraits in watercolor for over eight years. Working from close-up photos, she captures the spark and personality of every subject—whether four-legged or two. Hundreds of portraits later, her work now lives in homes across Northern California, the U.S., and beyond.

More recently, Amanda has embraced urban art, sketching lively street scenes on site. She has a genuine affinity for cafes and bistros. Back in her home studio she completes the painting. These works are now available as high-quality archival Giclée prints through AP Print Studio.

Her art spans watercolor pet portraits, political and celebrity drawings, textile design, and urban art, with exhibitions from New York to California and places in-between (St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Tennessee). Locally, her work has appeared in pop-up events and exhibits in Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Larkspur, Sausalito and Sonoma, California. Amanda studied art in New York, earned a degree in urban planning and studio art from Washington University in St. Louis, and spent 20+ years in marketing before returning to her first loves: painting, people, and dogs.

She draws inspiration from artists like Red Grooms, Matisse, and Chuck Close, and still uses the Kolinsky sable brush from her very first watercolor class—though her creative toolbox keeps growing.
